Muhlenberg, which is ranked No. 8 in Division III, got a big game from Erik Snyder (Phoenixville) in a 34-21 victory over Wilkes. Snyder rushed five times for 12 yards, caught three passes for 38 yards and a touchdown and returned a kickoff for 26 yards.

Ursinus opened with a 34-27 victory over Alfred in New York. Sophomore linebacker Joe Galie (Phoenixville) made a team-high 10 tackles for the Bears.

Franklin & Marshall's Matt Jenschke (Owen J. Roberts) hauled in an 18-yard touchdown pass to help the Diplomats blank Washington and Lee, 24-0.

Albright suffered a 30-28 loss to Salisbury during Saturday's season opener in Reading.

Senior Paul Gillinger (Spring-Ford) started at center for the Lions.

Delaware Valley fell to Iona, 27-19, in its opener. Linebacker Zach McCann (St. Pius X) made seven tackles for the Aggies.

Division II

The Shippensburg University football team dropped a 34-11 decision to Edinboro University on Saturday afternoon at Seth Grove Stadium. The PSAC crossover contest was played in horrid conditions and featured a combined 15 fumbles due to heavy rains and soggy field conditions. In his second start at quarterback for Shippensburg (0-2) red-shirt junior Chad DiFebbo (St. Pius X) finished 10-of-26 for 114 yards and one touchdown. DiFebbo also ran for a two-point conversion.

ville) caught two passes for 41 yards and one touchdown.

West Chester (1-1) evened its record with a 37-6 thumping of Lock Haven. Travis Ford-Bey (Phoenixville) and Jay Nelson (Phoenixville) each had two tackles for the Golden Rams.

Millersville (0-2) had a late lead, but the Marauders could not hold it in a 28-24 setback to Slippery Rock. Bob Swier (Spring-Ford) started at tight end for Millersville.
