BOYS CROSS COUNTRY Head coach: Justin Winters, 2nd season.
Last year's record: 0-9 Key runners: Seniors Xavier Knight, Ryan Marks, Steve Rakoczy, Ben Turner and Jack Reed; Juniors Matt Chia, Pat McGinnis, Galen Rogers, Adam Yosua and Colton Warren; Sophomore Nick Kissel; Freshmen Sean McGinnis, Liam Darcy.
Key losses: Chris Mullin (Shippensburg), Sam Cooper, Connor Noll. Mullin finished fourth at the PAC-10 Championships.
Outlook: 'This year we are fortunate in that our numbers have grown in a very large extent. With the influx of young runners has come a much greater pool of talent. Though we are young and inexperienced, we have a gereat group of core runners returning that should help provide guidance and support to our less experienced runners. It is my hope we can stay healthy, train intelligently and consistently, pick our moments and peak at the end of the season when it really matters. We're excited and optimistic that this year will be a major step forward.'
GIRLS GOLF Coaches: Steve Winnick (12th year), Jeff Wynne (1st year).
Key players: Seniors Alex Philo, Danielle DiGorolomo. Junior Ashley Sierzega.
Outlook: Said Winnick, 'We have two freshmen and another senior girl who just came out. We should have seven or eight girls this year. We have had a consistent number of girls that is solid to have a girls team. I am glad we have a new coach (Jeff Wynne). That is huge in terms of time for both Rob (Huston, boys junior varsity assistant coach) and I. The girls are excited and really enthusiastic. They have picked it up and got lessons. And with the younger kids you are looking for them to make progress.'
