Running back Brian Westbrook not only returned to practice but ripped off a scoring run so explosive everyone seemed stuck in place. Fresh legs, it seems, as he missed almost all of the previous two days due to a viral illness.

Noticing the, uh, less lively legs of several other players in camp, Reid said he would go easy on them the next three days. The Birds open the preseason Friday at Pittsburgh.,

Cornerback Lito Sheppard (strained groin) missed another practice, as did CB Asante Samuel (strained hamstring). Rookie S Quintin Demps exited with a sore Achilles' tendon. With just one full practice under his belt, Samuel still hasn't been ruled out of playing in the preseason opener, according to Reid.

Defensive end Victor Abiamiri, OT Franklin Dunbar and DT Kimo von Oelhoffen all missed practice.

Turkey Hill Dairy again will donate $1,000 for every Dawkins interception and $10,000 for every touchdown he scores this season to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. Also, for every Touchdown Sundae ice cream product sold, five cents goes to Eagles Youth Partnership.
