WEST WHITELAND — The West Whiteland Township Police Department is investigating a road rage incident which began at 2:52 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10.
The road rage incident, police said, occurred in the left lane of the eastbound Route 30 Bypass in the vicinity of the Route 100 exit in Exton.
The driver of a brown Ford pick-up truck had stopped in the left lane of the Route 30 Bypass. A second vehicle, a white van, stopped behind the truck. The male driver of the truck walked back to the van and allegedly threatened the male driver.
Police said the driver of a passing Budget truck lost control of his vehicle as a result of the two vehicles stopped in the left lane. The Budget truck struck the rear of the van and also struck the driver of the truck. The Budget truck struck a third vehicle as the driver tried to regain control of the vehicle. The driver of the brown pick up truck, a 53-year-old male from Green Lane, Pennsylvania, was transported to Paoli Hospital.
The Route 30 Bypass was closed for several hours as a result of the incident.
