LONDON BRITAIN — A physical struggle between a man and a woman in a house in London Britain Township ended in a murder-suicide, police said.
The crime occurred on the 200 block of Northbank Road in London Britain Township
On Oct. 10 at 4:43 p.m., troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police, Avondale Barracks, were dispatched to the home to conduct a welfare check on a couple who had not been seen over the weekend.
Upon arrival, there was no answer at the door. Troopers conducted a search of the exterior and began to look through the exterior windows. One of the troopers looked in the basement window and observed signs of a what appeared to be a recent struggle.
Troopers forced entry into the residence to conduct a safety sweep of the house. While inside, the Troopers discovered two individuals who were deceased. The causes of death were unknown at that time and the investigation continued.
A search warrant was issued for the house and two vehicles that were on the property. As a result of the search warrant and the evidence that was collected at the scene, it was determined a male and a female engaged in a physical altercation within the residence.
During this altercation, police said, the woman sustained fatal injuries. The man then subsequently killed himself.
There has been no history of incidents at this residence and all next of kins have been notified. The investigation will continue, and any new information obtained will be provided.
