AMITY — A Montgomery County man has been charged after police say he entered a home and got into an altercation with the homeowner.

Amity Police said Friday that Earl Mower, 47, of Perkiomenville, was arrested after police were called to a home on the 100 block of Clarion Avenue for a reported robbery just after 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Based on descriptions officers received, police located three individuals across the street from the home and detained them. Upon further investigation, Amity Police arrested one suspect for burglary and other related charges.

Police said they spoke to the victim who relayed that he was sleeping in his bedroom when he heard a noise and looked downstairs. Police say the victim saw Mower and told him to leave.

The victim then ran to his bedroom to get his gun. As he was running to his room, Mower allegedly chased him and there was a struggle. The victim was eventually able to escape to a neighbor's house, according to authorities.

No one was injured and no shots were fired during the incident.

According to court documents, Mower is charged with burglary, criminal trespass, simple assault, harassment, theft and recklessly endangering another person. Bail was set at $100,000.
