McConnell, of the 300 block of Bluestone Court, was one of 62 winners in the promotion, which awarded a daily prize during this past holiday season.

McConnell and her guest, Mark Collins, won a trip to Orlando, where they will experience Universal Orlando, including "Seuss Landing," an entire Dr. Seuss-themed area, featuring attractions based on The Cat in Hat character who stars in Universal Pictures' holiday feature film, "Dr. Seuss' The Cat in the Hat."

"It was a total surprise, but obviously a pleasant one," said McConnell about being told she had won. "I'm really excited about taking the trip to Universal Studios Orlando, what a priceless experience!"

It was a normal Saturday morning in November for McConnell, who said she was visiting a friend when she decided to stop at the Royersford Wawa on Township Line Road to put some gas in her 1996 Geo Prism.

"I put in around $12 dollars worth of gas in my car, paid by credit card, and didn't think anything about it," said McConnell. "I went about business as usual for me that day."

However, McConnell said that during the week of Thanksgiving, Federal Express made three attempts to deliver a package to her home.

"I wasn't home when the Federal Express people would come by," she said. "I finally called the Federal Express office in West Chester. They told me that I had to come out there to pick up the package. I asked them who was the package from and they wouldn't tell me. I told them that if they couldn't tell me what it was, then they were to return it to whomever sent it."

McConnell said she received a phone call from MasterCard's travel company on Dec. 1.

"They finally called me once they received the package back and informed me that I had won," she said. "They re-sent the package to me later on that week."

MasterCard created the "Trip-A-Day Giveaway" 2003 holiday promotion, as the card usage-based consumer sweepstakes for the brand's key fourth-quarter holiday spend period. Each time U.S. cardholders used their MasterCard card for a domestic transaction from Nov. 1 through Dec. 31, 2003, they were automatically entered for a chance to win one of 62 prize trips, which consist of admission to Universal Orlando Resort, including five-day tickets to Universal Studios Florida & Universal's Islands of Adventure, Universal CityWalk - Party Passes, lodging at the Royal Pacific Resort, and round-trip air/land transportation and spending money.

Having been to Florida twice before, McConnell said she is looking forward to going to Universal Studios Orlando.

"I'll be leaving in March," she said. "I never thought I'd make it back to Florida just by paying for gas with my credit card."
