Sheldon H. Ickes, 93, of Pottstown, died Saturday, July 19, 2008, in Parkhouse Providence Pointe, Upper Providence.

Born May 17, 1915 in Robesonia, Pa., he was the son of the late Charles and Esther (Brossman) Ickes.

Mr. Ickes served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a First Lieutenant. He also served in the National Guard.

He worked as a supervisor for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, then worked for Stoudt, Tacanelli & Associates in Kulpsville until the age of 88.

Mr. Ickes was a member of the New Goshenhoppen Church in East Greenville, Pa.

Surviving are a daughter, Sharyn wife of Robert Johnson of San Bernadino, Calif.; a son, Robert and wife Kathi Ickes of Springdale, Arkansas; a daughter, Bambi, wife of John Seponski of Phoenixville, Pa.; five grandchildren, Travis and wife Renee Johnson, Ben and wife Leslie Ickes, Josh Ickes, John-Paul Seponski, and Christopher and wife Desiree Seponski; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles and wife Mildred Ickes of Phoenixville, Pa.; and a companion, Arlene Youse of Pottstown, Pa.

He was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Ickes, and a sister, Evelyn.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service from the Devlin-Rosmos-Kepp Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Main Street at Fourth Avenue, Phoenixville, Pa., on Saturday, July 26, 2008, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Deborah Rahn Clemens officiating.

Burial will follow in Schwenksville Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m.
