LOWER PROVIDENCE - PennDOT has annouced that the westbound U.S. Route 422 off-ramp at Trooper Road (Route 363) will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, to 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 25, for reconstruction and resurfacing.
The ramp will be closed all weekend along. Motorists who typically exit at Route 363 will be directed further west on Route 422 to the Oaks interchange, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. Drivers will be directed to turn right on Egypt Road and follow it to Route 363.
The far right lane used by drivers to exit 422 onto 363 will also be closed starting at the Route 23 interchange.
The ramp's improvement is part of a $16.8 million project to improve travel by building two additional ramps and widening Route 363.
Route 363 (Trooper Road) will remain open to one lane of traffic in each direction during construction.
