LIMERICK - A Pottstown area man is facing assault and drug-related charges after an alleged road rage incident on Route 422, according to state police at Skippack.
James Edward Case, 20, of Pottstown, is facing charges of simple assault and drug possession in connection with a 10:54 a.m. July 31 incident on westbound Route 422 in Limerick, according to a public information release issued by state police on Friday. The charges will be filed in the office of District Court Judge Walter F. Gadzicki Jr. in Limerick, according to the release.
An affidavit of probable cause had not been filed at the district court as of Friday.
An exact address for Case was not available from state police on Friday. Trooper Stephen M. Kamnik, the investigating officer, was unavailable for further comment about the investigation.
But according to the release, state troopers were dispatched to westbound Route 422 in Limerick for 'the report of a road rage incident' on the morning of July 31. The alleged victim, a 39-year-old man from Wynnewood told police Case 'was tailgating him before displaying what appeared to be a firearm,' according to the release.
'Case was soon located and found in possession of a revolver replica pellet gun, suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia,' troopers alleged in the release.
Lower Pottsgrove police assisted during the investigation, according to the release.
