Phoenixville Public Library will host a live webinar for nonprofit organizations, "Proposal Writing Basics", on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2 to 3 p.m. in the Library's Community Room. This introductory overview of the process for new grant proposal writers is presented by The Foundation Center, the nation's leading authority on philanthropy. The webinar provides instruction on the key components of a proposal to a foundation or corporation and answers questions that first-timers often have about the process of applying for a grant. Attendees will be able to participate in online polls and to ask questions. This event is free and open to the public. Reservations are required. Appraisal Day for antiques and things of value at the Senior Adult Activity Center, 153 Church St., Phoenixville, Sunday, Oct. 12, 1 to 4 p.m. Verbal appraisals by experts and appraisers of antiques, jewelry, coin, currency, furniture, toys, dolls, bears, collectibles, glassware, porcelains, paintings, art forms, tools, sports memorabilia and most things that increase in value over time. Five-dollar donation per appraisal; six appraisals for $25. Doors open for registration at noon. All of the proceeds go to the Senior Center.
