Medical emergency leads to crash on Route 422 in Limerick

A medical emergency lead to a crash on icy Route 422 at Evergreen Road late Tuesday night. Lower Pottstgrove police said the operator of this SUV hit several road signs on Route 422 in Limerick before getting off at Sanatoga. The vehicle drove through a parking lot,then going the wrong way toward traffic,drove along Rupert Road before skidding into a guardrail. The lone occupant was treated at the scene by Trappe paramedics.

LIMERICK >> A medical emergency led to a crash on Route 422 at Evergreen Road Tuesday night amid icy road conditions.

Limerick Police said the driver of a Jeep, who is not being identified at this time, was believed to have been suffering from a diabetic emergency when the crash occurred. Reports from the scene indicated that the vehicle hit several road signs on Route 422 in Limerick before getting off at Sanatoga. The vehicle reportedly drove through a parking lot and then headed the wrong way toward oncoming traffic along Rupert Road. It then skidded into a guardrail.

The driver, who had been the only occupant, was treated at the scene and taken home by a family member upon recovery.

No additional injuries were reported.

Limerick and Lower Pottsgrove police, along with Trappe Paramedics, responded to the scene.
