According to police, a red Lincoln Aviator slowed approaching the southbound red light at Route 113 and Black Rock Road around 4 p.m.

Police said a green Ford Escort, driven by an unknown male, rear-ended the Aviator in front of the Valley Forge Baptist Temple.

The driver of the Escort was cut out of the vehicle using the Jaws of Life. Rescue workers completely removed the roof from the Escort.

The driver was airlifted to HUP by PennStar. Rescue workers took over half an hour to free the driver from his vehicle.

The Aviator sustained some minor damage to its rear bumper.

Route 113 was closed between Mennonite Road and Black Rock Road/Yeager Road for about an hour Monday afternoon following the crash.

The Royersford Humane Fire Company, Mont Clare Fire Company, Oaks Fire Company and the Trappe Fire Company Ambulance responded to the scene.

The Escort was towed by Norm's Save Station. Jack Nolan towed the Aviator.
