Local state troopers promoted and reassignments announced

HARRISBURG - The Pennsylvania State Police recently announced more than 100 promotions statewide and corresponding reassignments with several local implications.

Several of those promoted which have a local impact include Sgt. Devon M. Brutosky, from the Bureau of Integrity and Professional Standards, Cpl. Robert L. Bailey, of Troop J in Lancaster, Cpl. William E. Foutz, of Troop L in Jonestown and Cpl. Michael A. Santos, of Troop J in Avondale, who are all now assigned to Troop J in Embreeville covering northern and western Chester County.

Cpl. Cory S. Mengel is moving from Troop L in Jonestown to Troop L in Reading and Cpl. Brian R. Finn is moving from Troop M in Belfast to Troop K in Skippack.

Michael T. Taylor was promoted to corporal but will remain at Troop L in Reading.

Charles A. Staskiewicz, promoted to sergeant, was reassigned from Troop L in Reading to the state police's bureau of emergency and special operations.

Additionally, Brian J. Schutter, a Douglassville resident, was promoted to corporal and reassigned from Troop K in Skippack to Troop K in Philadelphia.

Michael B. Tinnenny, a Collegeville resident, was promoted to sergeant and will move from Troop K in Philadelphia to Troop K in Media.

A total of 23 state troopers across the commonwealth were promoted from corporal to sergeant and 95 troopers were advanced to corporal.

Commissioner Frank Noonan announced the promotions via a press release through his press secretary Maria Finn.
