PHOENIXVILLE - Police arrested a Phoenixville man Monday night on rape and sexual assault charges in connection with an alleged rape of a borough woman in the basement of his home last week.
According to Officer David C. Boyer, police began their investigation of Jacob Ryan Wing, 18, of the 800 block of Woodlawn Avenue, following a report of a sexual assault by the woman.
"I met with the victim, who stated she received a phone call from Wing on Feb. 15 to come to his place to watch television and eat," said Boyer. "The victim said she arrived at Wing's residence at 8 p.m. Wing asked the victim to go down to the basement so they could talk. The victim said Wing left the residence at 11 p.m. and told her he would be back. The victim said she fell asleep on the couch around midnight."
The woman told Boyer that she awoke on the couch in the basement around 8 a.m. to find Wing on top of her. "She said Wing was holding her arms down, and Wing had nothing on except for a shirt," said Boyer. Boyer said the woman struggled with Wing and eventually managed to free herself and leave the residence. Boyer said the woman made a positive identification of Wing through a photo line-up.
Police arrested Wing at his residence late Monday night. Wing is charged with rape, sexual assault, indecent assault and simple assault. He was arraigned before District Justice Stanley Scott in Lionville Monday night and was remanded to Chester County Prison in lieu of $10,000 cash bail. His next court appearance is scheduled for Thursday, March 4.
