KIMBERTON - Rides, crowds, games, food, and, of course, the Kimberton Fair wouldn't be complete without the infamous donuts.

The 77th Annual Kimberton Community Fair opens tonight on the grounds of the Kimberton Fire Company and runs until Saturday, July 30.

The Monday night Opening Ceremony for the fair includes the musical talents of a local singer and winner of the National Louis Armstrong Award for outstanding performance in the field of jazz.

Brian Giebler, a Phoenixville High School graduate with more than 20 musicals under his belt, will be performing on Monday, July 25. Giebler got the nod for the Best Supporting Actor award for his role in "Into the Woods."

On Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., gymnasts from Metzler's Gymnastics of Downingtown, winners of last year's fitness challenge, will perform a demonstration. A fireworks display will also take place on Wednesday.

On Saturday at 7:30 p.m., students of a local nonprofit Martial Arts organization in Phoenixville will be treating fair goers to a show of skill. The group, which meets at Barkley Elementary, will present to the crowd a display of various forms of self-defense that promote the ideals of Cuong Nhu Oriental Martial Arts.

Four livestock buildings will be filled with farm animals, and a covered show ring area will be the site of the livestock competitions. Also part of the nightly entertainment are racing pigs from The Hambone Express.

Ride specials on Tuesday and Thursday nights and Saturday afternoon allow families to pay one price for rides. An ATM will be on site.

The Kimberton Community Fair is open Monday, July 25 through Saturday, July 30.

Exhibit buildings hours: 4 to 10 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 1 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, July 30.
