The Kiwanis Club of Phoenixville will be holding their 21st Annual “Great Duck Race” on Sunday, July 10 at the covered bridge on Rapps Dam Road. The ducks will be dumped into the water of French Creek to begin their swim at 2 p.m. Each duck will contain a ticket stub, and the first duck to cross the finish line will win $1,000. There are nine additional cash prizes ranging from $50 to $500.
The public is invited to come and watch the race. Parking is available near the covered bridge. There is additional parking at the Armory or the East Pikeland Township Building on Rapps Dam Road. Those who wish to attend are reminded that Rapps Dam Road is closed between Route 23 and Camp Council Road, so access is from Route 113.
Tickets may be purchased from any Kiwanian. In addition, the Kiwanis Club will be selling tickets on Bridge Street during the Blob Fest on Saturday, July 9. The popular Duck Pond that was first opened at Dogwood will also be at the Blob Fest. Children can pick three ducks for a dollar and there is a prize every time!
See you at Blob Fest or at the Duck Race!
