DCQ Jewelry, located in the Tarrytown Plaza on Route 23 opened Dec. 19, 2003.
Trung and Cindy Quach, husband and wife owners and operators of DCQ Jewelry, have been in the jewelry business for three years. This is their first location.
"There are only three jewelry stores in Phoenixville," said Cindy Quach. "That's not enough to serve the 3,000 people in the area." She and her husband decided to open their own business for the freedom that it allowed them.
"[We wanted] to be our own bosses and help people with finding jewelry," said Cindy Quach.
The DCQ owners, who chose the Tarrytown space because it is a high traffic, central location, began with a strong start during holiday shopping season last month.
"In the future we may expand," said Cindy, though at this time they have no plans to do so. The bulk of the store's business has been repairs.
DCQ Jewelry offers fine jewelry, diamonds and gemstones along with repairs and custom designs.
A former hardware store, Tarrytown Plaza is a 19,000-square-foot strip mall that has opened new stores including Verizon and Slim and Tone since the summer of 2003.
DCQ Jewelry's hours of operation are Sunday and Monday, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. For more information, call DCQ Jewelry at 610-935-4490.
