The Friends of Pennypacker Mills, a Montgomery County-owned historical site at 5 Haldeman Road in Schwenksville, is preparing for its Seventh Annual Craft Marketplace on Saturday, Sept. 15, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., on the grounds of the Mills.
Last year, the event attracted 75 crafters and 1,200 attendees. Organizers are anticipating 80+ crafters this year.
Crafts include unique sterling and gemstone jewelry; beaded and wire jewelry; wreaths; mixed media art; brooms and accessories; stained glass; holiday décor; woolen wares made from alpaca, llama, and angora (and the bunnies are there to pet.); photos on tile; tassels created from salt and pepper shakers; all manner of fabric crafts; ceramic and stoneware pottery; and new this year, a food aisle.
There will be a food vendor on site and the beautiful turn-of-the-20th century mansion will be open for tours.
The Friends will have a tent and be raffling a Civil War replica cannon, a Madame Alexander doll dressed in handmade period clothing, and a quilt.
All proceeds go to benefit Pennypacker Mills.
