ROYERSFORD - French Quarter Bistro in Royersford celebrates Mardi Gras and customer appreciation week beginning today.
"(The celebration) gets bigger every year," said owner and chef Mark Van Horn. "It's the best place to go outside of Philadelphia."
Commemorating their third year in business and the Louisiana tradition, French Quarter Bistro will offer a nightly buffet of authentic Cajun food, free musical performances and numerous give aways.
"When you walk in it's almost like you're in New Orleans," said Van Horn of the restaurant's decor. The buffet will feature jambalaya, pulled pork, rice and beans and prizes are provided by liquor and beer sponsors.
"I was told 1,000 times a Cajun Creole restaurant would never make it in Royersford," said Van Horn. "But thanks to (the customers) we are thriving and would like to celebrate with you this week."
Tonight, on Fat Tuesday, the restaurant will feature the O Brothers from 8:30 to midnight. Free buffet at 9 p.m. On Thursday, Feb. 26 Alligator Zydeco Band will perform from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday night will offer sounds of Tom Scanlon from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m.
