Family Stages will bring three imaginative and riotously funny shows to the Augustus Lutheran Church in Trappe, PA. Leading off the season in October is Snow White. In February the musical comedy Little Goldy and the Three Riding Bears comes to town and in March the play is Puss in Boots.

Since 1980 Family Stages has been entertaining audiences of all ages with their unique, energetic and humorous two-actor plays. Last spring the company performed Peter Pan in Trappe. The audience was so enthusiastic that the players have returned for a whole season of shows.

Snow White, with two performers playing all the characters, is certainly a challenge, but company founders Elise and Steve Seyfried rise to the occasion. The costumes fly fast and furiously as the two multi-talented performers bring all the familiar characters to life. To add to the fun the story is told from the dwarf's point of view. (Big people cause trouble and it's the little guy who comes to the rescue.) Snow White runs Sunday, October 4 (2:00 PM) and Monday and Tuesday, October 5 and 6 (10:00 AM)

In February Family Stages returns with Little Goldy and The 3 Riding Bears. This musical comedy is too big for just one story. The play combines the elements of three of the most popular stories of all time. Joining the fun are Goldilocks, Little Red Riding Hood, Three Little Pigs, a variety of bears and one very confused wolf. The music was composed by James Scully with lyrics by Elise Seyfried and the book by Steve Seyfried. Performances are set for Sunday February 7 (2:00 PM) and Monday and Tuesday, February 8 & 9 (10:00 AM)

The series concludes in March with performances of Puss in Boots. Puss, the magical and fashion-conscious feline, must win the hand of a beautiful princess for her master (the poor miller's son) by finding the princess' missing crown and ridding the land of a wicked ogre. Of course she accomplishes this all - while looking fabulous. Puss in Boots runs Sunday, March 14 (2:00 PM) and Monday and Tuesday (March 15 & 16, 10:00 AM).

Family Stages began as Duet Productions in 1980 with Elise and Steve Seyfried, a husband and wife team, writing producing and performing theatre for youth and family audiences. The company has grown steadily and combines an extensive touring schedule of the Northeast with performances in their home theaters in Oreland (Family Stages) and Rehoboth Beach, DE (Rehoboth Summer Children's Theatre). While most of the shows are performed in the two-actor format, Family Stages maintains a core group of actors who can performance many different shows.

In addition to the fairy tales for family audiences, the company produces educational programs for schools. Current touring shows include Finding King Tut, That Fabulous Franklin and Science People.

Over the past 29 years of Duet Productions and Family Stages audiences have enjoyed a marvelous blend of entertainment and enrichment, education and just plain fun. Now the Phoenixville-Collegeville-Pottstown area families can find out what the fun is all about.
