PHOENIXVILLE - Thanks to a successful several months of fundraising, the public can enjoy another July 4th fireworks display in town.
Residents can watch the fireworks show on July 4th at Friendship Field (Fillmore and Franklin streets). Organizer Karen Johns said the show is expected to start anywhere between 9:15 and 9:30 p.m.
Johns said attendees are welcome to bring blankets and lawn chairs to Friendship Field. Food and beverage vendors will be available. The Phoenixville Dive and Unit team will be selling glow in the dark toys. Vendors are scheduled to open at 7 p.m. Residents must still adhere to park rules: no alcohol, drugs or dogs. Parking is available at Reservoir Park, Bethel Baptist Church, the Italian Club or Franklin Commons.
'Skip our pyrotechnician said if we enjoyed last year's show, this year will top it completely,' Johns said.
Johns said in addition to Phoenixville Federal Bank & Trust, Phoenixville Hospital, Phoenixville Jaycees, Petrucci's Ice Cream-Water Ice, Susquehanna Bank, Tracy Wilke, Ken Buckwalter and private donors, Susquehanna Bank, Phoenixville Jaycees and the Phoenixville Area Business Association donated to the effort.
The volunteers were Courtney Harvey, Stephanie Pontin, Pam Gates, Bill and Suzanne McGinley, Kristen Caperila and Kayla and Cami Johns and Sandy and Joe Horvath.
Johns said she is thankful to the donors and volunteers who have made this year's fireworks show possible.
