The Limerick Township and Lower Pottsgrove Township police departments have charged two adults and three juveniles after a recent investigation into thefts from vehicles.
The thefts occurred during the overnight and early morning hours between Oct. 3 and Oct. 9. Several items were reported stolen including money, electronic devices and firearms.
According to police, residential security cameras captured the suspects entering into the victims’ vehicles.
Limerick police posted the video surveillance to their Facebook page in hopes of identifying the suspects. Police said they received numerous helpful tips from the public that allows them to conclude the case.
"Our agencies requested public assistance in identifying individuals captured on surveillance video and we received positive response in helping identify the actor(s). Our agencies greatly appreciate the tips received," said a release posted on the Lower Pottsgrove Police Crimewatch page.
"Thank you to everyone for remaining patient and affording us time to investigate all leads in order to bring conclusion to these cases. Our detectives worked tirelessly on this case over the past couple weeks and your tips helped them focus their investigation. We are pleased to report that based on tips, follow-up by detectives, and extensive assistance of the Limerick Township Police Department and the Lansdale Borough Police Department, 3 juveniles and 2 adults are being charged for the crimes involved. We have also recovered the stolen firearms," the department said. "Police work is made easier with a responsive community and great working relationships between our law enforcement partners."
