Royersford resident Jack Fries, a regular at the Spring-Ford Diner, celebrated his 100th birthday in grand fashion Friday morning.

Fries was driven to the diner from his apartment in the Royersford fire truck used in the film, 'The Blob.' At the diner, he was greeted by dozens of friends and well-wishers who sang him 'Happy Birthday' and presented with a cake and $100 bill with his face on it.

State Rep. Mark Painter was also on hand for the event, and presented Fries with citations from the governor. Entertainment at the celebration was provided by comedian and musician Glenn Miller.
