Learn Microsoft's Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Publisher software programs in a series of classes to be held Saturday mornings in January and February at Phoenixville Public Library. Ernie Tidball, a Senior IT Audit Consultant, will be the instructor. Basic-level classes will be held as follows: Word (January 2), Excel (January 9), PowerPoint (January 16), Access (January 23), and Publisher (January 30). Intermediate-level classes will be held as follows: Word (February 6), Excel (February 13), PowerPoint (February 20), and Access (February 27). Class time is 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the Library's Public Computer Center. Students should bring a floppy disk or USB drive if they wish to save their work. Holiday Wreath Workshops will be held on Sunday, December13, 1:00 - 3:30 pm; Monday or Tuesday, December 14 and 15, 7:00 - 9:30 pm. Create a unique holiday wreath using plant materials from the Arboretum's extensive collections. Tyler staff member Karen McDonald will show you how to work with a wide variety of evergreen boughs, as well as cones, berries, and seed heads, to make your own special wreath. Please bring pruners and work gloves. Fee includes all materials.

Winter "Bug-sicle" Hunt will be held on Monday, December 28, 10:00 - 11:30 am. There are still insects throughout the Arboretum, but they are not easy to find! Come join the hunt as we look for their hiding places and learn how they survive through the cold months. We will collect some specimens to bring back to examine indoors. Do you think insects can survive after freezing solid? Pre-registration is required; $6 members, $8 non-members.
