MALVERN—LGBT Equality Alliance of Chester County, Inc., will host its fourth annual Chester County Pride Weekend, with two major back-to-back events, on June 1 and June 2. About 1,000 people are expected.

The first weekend event is Chester County Pride Fest, a smoke-free, family-friendly event free and open to all. It is scheduled for Saturday, June 1, from noon to 5 p.m, at Reeves Park in Phoenixville. There will be kids activities; food trucks; 50-plus business, merchandise, nonprofit, and political vendors; Pride T-shirt sales; 50-50 raffle; and continuous live stage entertainment.

Pride Fest headliner is Aquaria, winner of "RuPaul’s Drag Race" Season 10, in addition to Hepner’s Rebellion, The Goddess Isis, Philadelphia Gay Men’s Chorus, and local drag performers and youth singers. Pride Fest emcees are VinChelle and Lady Geisha-Stratton, who will also perform. Mayor of Phoenixville, Peter Urscheler, and U.S. Rep. Chrissy Houlahan will preside over the festival.

The second weekend event is Chester County Pride Gala, an awards banquet and celebration honoring the diligence and commitment of its sponsors, volunteers, and community supporters. This ticketed event will be held at The Desmond Hotel in Malvern on Sunday, June 2, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Pride Gala features transgender comedienne, Julia Scotti, and vibrant keynote speaker, Amber Hikes, Executive Director of the Mayor’s Office of LGBT Affairs for the City of Philadelphia. Awards to be presented: Community Partner, Community Advocate, Pillar of Support, and two President’s awards. The event offers a cocktail hour, hors d’oeuvres, cash bar, full course buffet dinner, silent auction, 50-50 prizes, and DJed music for dancing.

“We're thrilled to host this celebration of diversity and equality for the Chester County LGBT community. Chester County Pride Fest and Pride Gala are fantastic events in their own right, but in the end, they represent the betterment of our community,” said Julie K. Mesaros, President of LGBT Equality Alliance. “We welcome you all to come as you are.”
