New pharmacy opens in Downingtown area

The ribbon cutting at Hopewell Road Pharmacy took place last week.

Hopewell Road Pharmacy, at the intersection of Hopewell Road and Route 322 near Downingtown, held its ribbon cutting ceremony on Jan. 26.

The Scalies family hosted State Rep. Becky Corbin, R-155 of East Brandywine; East Brandywine Supervisor Kyle Scribner; Mike Guyer, president of the Western Chester County Chamber of Commerce, along with other local business and community leaders to celebrate the grand opening on the newly reconstructed historic building.

Owner Sharon Scalies introduced her team of pharmacists, Deborah Schmale and Eric Rafuse, along with Lead Pharmacy Technician Tammy Allen.

“We are not in the prescription business, instead we are in the service business,” Scalies said. “ Whether it is free delivery, curbside service, online ordering, or unit dose services, our goal every moment from opening our doors to closing them at the end of the day is to exceed our customer’s expectations.”
