SPRING CITY - NYC based indie pop artist Jon Sandler will perform on Sunday, July 29 at Chaplin's Music Cafe, 66 N. Main St. Show time is 9 p.m. Sandler is touring in support of his brand new debut full length album 'Late Night Champ,' released on June 12, 2012.
In 2010, Sandler joined forces with his band to release The Fancy Band EP, produced by musician Eric Zeiler (Xylos), and was then signed to super duper records. Most recently, Jon and The Fancy Band were honored with official showcases at the 2010 and 2011 CMJ music marathons in New York City, included on Delta Airlines in-flight radio, and were featured in Billboard Magazine after winning the first ever national 'Mariachi Mash Up' competition sponsored by Hornitos Tequila.
Sandler has opened for recording artists such as Teddy Geiger, Mission Hill, Terra Naomi, Green River Ordinance, Sleeperstar and last August played the Nikon Theater at Jones Beach opening for Jimmy Buffett.
With 'Late Night Champ,' Sandler successfully bridges genre, age, and cultural backgrounds by truly offering something for everyone –both musically and topically.
The album title refers to 'a way of life and an anthem that a lot of people can relate to,' he said. 'I feel like I actually function better between the hours of 1am-4am, and I realized, after performing the song live, that people connect and relate to the song's message. I often hear other people declare that 'I am a Late Night Champ!''
