The Phoenixville Farmers' Market will celebrate International Can-It-Forward Day with a free canning demonstration on Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m.
The international day is an annual event hosted by the Jarden Home Brands, according to a press release. Each year, people learn how to preserve their favorite fruits and vegetables throughout the fall and winter, stated the release. Those who attend the Phoenixville Farmer's Market this weekend will learn how to transform tomatoes into marinara sauce and more.
Executive Chef Donald Stauffer with Bon Appetit Management Company at the University of Pennsylvania will teach the class. Everyone who attends the demonstration will receive free canning supplies to take home.
The Phoenixville Farmers' Market is under the Gay Street Bridge at 200 Mill Street. People can sign up for the demonstration at www.eventbrite.com/e/can-it-forward-tickets-12577765435. For more information about the event, contact the market through their website www.phoenixvillefarmersmarket.org/.
