Pottstown — The fifth Sunday after Pentecost Rev. Austin Chinault, Zion's United Church of Christ, Hanover and Chestnut streets, will begin his summer preaching theme "Letter to the Church in Rome." This first Sunday of the month is Holy Communion and church members will participate in their homes along with Rev. Chinault on YouTube. This week's sermon's focus is "I Don't Understand My Own Actions." This Sunday's special music offering "America the Beautiful" will be performed by Diane Chinault, flute; Austin Chinault, accordion; Jim Miller, trombone; Brian Miller, trombone, and Keith Clattenburg, organ. The Summer Ingathering Special Offering throughout July will be shared with the Pottstown Cluster for its many needs and for the remaining slate roof installation on the church. Church members are asked to contribute monetary gifts to the church for nursing home residents. Family and friends cannot visit and the nursing facilities requested items such as Word Search books, snacks, crayons, slipper socks, bingo prizes and window sill plants. The church will forward monetary donations for gifts to activity directors of Manor Care, Manatawny Manor, Sanatoga Center, Keystone Villas, and Frederick Living.
