PHILADELPHIA — It took nearly two years, but Philadelphia police announced Monday they arrested a West Chester woman in connection with the murder of a man who was stabbed to death and his body burned in a home in the Overbrook Park section of the city.

Cheyenn Hurt, 24, of the 1100 block of West Chester Pike in West Goshen, has been charged with murder, unlawful restraint, criminal conspiracy, possessing instruments of crime, causing-risking a catastrophe, criminal trespass, tamper with evidence, arson and burglary.

According to Philadelphia police, Hurt is responsible for the murder of Rephael Brandon Swan, 29, on Sept. 9, 2017, at a home on the 7500 block of Overbrook Street. Officers were called to the area for a homicide and found Swan the basement stabbed multiple times and his body burned in a fire. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hurt was arrested by Philadelphia police early Friday morning at a residence at 1901 North Hill Drive in Norristown, Montgomery County, police said.

Police gave no details as to how they linked Hurt to the murder.

Hurt was taken to Riverside Correctional Facility, where she was denied bail. A preliminary hearing has been set for Sept. 4.
