On April 9, the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) released their updated rankings based on game play from the beginning of the 2014 season ending on March 31. The Brandywine Roller Girls (BRG) schedule was created with these rankings in mind and as a result of the Belligerents undefeated record in sanctioned play they jumped 13 spots to #40, allowing them to claim the final D1 playoff qualification spot. There are 179 teams ranked by the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) into three Divisions: Division 1 (D1), those teams ranked 1-40; Division 2 (D2) those teams ranked 41-100; and Division 3 (D3), teams ranked 100+ (http://wftda.com/rankings).

The Belligerents continued their successful run of undefeated sanctioned play when they made their first international trip to Ontario to play the Tri-City Thunder on April 12. The Thunder started the 2014 season at #38 and lost a couple of spots and skated onto the track on April 12 ranked #42. The Belligerents defeated the Thunder in a close game 165-153. The Belligerents season continues with a trip to Columbia, South Carolina for the Southern Discomfort Roller Derby tournament. In addition, the Belligerents will travel to play the #1 ranked Canadian team, Toronto on May 24.
