Twin Valley girls enjoy fine bowling season

The Twin Valley High School girls’ bowling team is enjoying a fine season thus far during the 2013-14 campaign.

The Raiders have compiled a 17-4 record for first place in the Berks Conference I Division (20-4 overall).

The head coach is Mike Neatock, who is in his 11th year at the helm. Twin Valley bowls its home matches at Bowl-O-Rama.

Last year the Twin Valley girls posted an even .500 winning percentage with an 18-18 record.

The top bowlers include all-division selection Jennifer Fitts, Amy Carvalho, Laurelyn Rhoads and Liza Tosunian.

The remainder of Berks Conference I consists of Muhlenberg 15-6 (18-6), Governor Mifflin 13-8 (16-8), Wilson 12-6 (15-6), Exeter 12-9 (15-9), Reading High 3-21 (3-21) and Daniel Boone 1-20 (4-20).

Hamburg stands in first place in Berks Conference II with a 16-2 record (16-5 overall).

The rest of the conference includes Schuylkill Valley 14-4 (14-4), Oley Valley 13-5 (13-8), Wyomissing 9-9 (9-12), Berks Catholic 6-9 (6-12), Conrad Weiser 4-14 (4-17) and Antietam 0-18 (0-21).

On the boys’ side, Twin Valley has an 0-21 record in league action (0-24 overall) for last place in Berks Conference I. Last year the Raiders finished with a fine 24-12 record, but their entire starting lineup was lost to graduation. Neatock also coaches the boys bowlers.

The Berks Conference I standings are as follows: Exeter 17-4 (20-4), Governor Mifflin 17-4 (20-4), Muhlenberg 13-8 (15-9), Daniel Boone 12-9 (15-9), Wilson 10-8 (10-11), Reading High 3-18 (3-21) and Twin Valley rounds out the seven teams in the division.

In Berks Conference II, the standings are as follows: Conrad Weiser 18-0 (21-0), Hamburg 12-6 (15-6), Wyomissing 11-7 (12-9), Schuylkill Valley 8-7 (11-7), Oley Valley 7-11 (7-14), Berks Catholic 3-12 (3-15) and Antietam 1-17 (1-20).
