Phoenixville resident Chris Kennedy is completing an outstanding football career at Bloomsburg University.
A graduate of Archbishop Carroll High School, Kennedy is a 6-3, 290-pound senior defensive tackle for the Huskies (10-1), who host West Chester on Nov. 30 in the NCAA Division II Playoffs at Danny Hale Field at Redman Stadium.
Kennedy was named to the All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East first team defense for the second year in a row as Bloomsburg claimed the PSAC title by defeating Slippery Rock, 42-38, in an exciting championship game on Nov. 16.
A four-year starter, Kennedy had 23 tackles with three sacks and one forced fumble.
First-year head coach Paul Darragh was named PSAC Coach of the Year. He previously served as the Bloomsburg defensive coordinator for 16 years under previous head coach Danny Hale, who retired.
Bloomsburg is making its 10th NCAA appearance and earned a first-round bye. The Huskies last captured the PSAC title in 1985.
