    When I was still sitting in the announcer’s chair at Grandview Speedway — I retired back at the end of the 2013 season after 45 years — I had the joy of getting to see and talk with Alex and Matt (Bartorillo) just about every Saturday night. They would bring me diet ice tea and other treats. Such great youngsters.

    Gettysburg senior Andrews places second in long jump

    COLLEGEVILLE >> Phoenixville Area High School graduate Travis Andrews, now a senior football and track & field standout at Division III Gettysburg College, earned a second-place silver medal in the men’s long jump event during the Centennial Conference Indoor Men’s Track & Field Championships on Feb. 28 at the Floy Lewis Bakes Center on the campus of Ursinus College.

    Competition heats up for Grandview modified title

    Jeff Strunk, Craig Von Dohren and Duane Howard have pretty much dominated the TP Trailers NASCAR 358 Modified stock car racing action at Grandview Speedway for the last 16 seasons. Terry Meitzler, now retired, won the title in 1999 and the “big three” have shared the championships between them since then. Strunk has won 10, VonDohren claimed four including last season and Howard topped the standings twice.
