<![CDATA[Royersford cancer survivor rides to help others conquer the illness]]> A Royersford resident fought a tough battle against cancer, and won. She is now going to give back to the doctors who helped to save her life.

Deborah Pannebaker will be participating in the 2014 Ride to Conquer Cancer this October. The proceeds will benefit Penn Medicine's Abramson Cancer Center.

PERKIOMEN TWP. - A 3-foot-tall caterpillar was found counting yellow, mellow fishbugs at the Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy's Children's Discovery Room Open House Monday.

Dressed in costumes of mice, caterpillars and other furry creatures, children ages 3 to 6 experienced the full gamut of educational experiences offered by the conservancy's environmental education department.

Six minutes after the alarm was sounded, a fire engine - which had been stationed at the Upper Providence Township administration building on Black Rock Road - arrived on scene.

<![CDATA[PHOTOS: Colonial Gardens holds annual Butterfly Festival]]> East Pikeland - Colonial Gardens held its Butterfly Festival last Saturday, Aug. 23, where dozens of monarch butterflies were released to begin their migration south for the winter.

The event included food vendors, educational talks on the butterflies, a chance for children to see monarchs up close and, of course, the butterfly release at noon.
