<![CDATA[Children can swim for free in June at local YMCAs for Splash Week]]> Area YMCAs are offering free swim lessons to children for Splash Week June 1 through June 5.

The Splash program is meant to teach kids basic water safety instruction and swimming skills. The free lessons are available to preschool children ages 3 to 5 and youth ages 6 to 12. The lessons are taught in 30-minute classes over various time slots including mornings, afternoons and evenings.

"Crook" is a DSH black with a patch of white on his chest. He is approximately one year old (At of the end of Jan. 2015). He is very playful and loving. He almost died at birth. His mother gave birth to him near a drain; unfortunately, Crook fell into the drain. The owner had to pull him out of the drain and give him CPR.
