Henry Trafton Tenney IV, 24, who most recently listed an address in the 1000 block of Fairview Road in Reading, was sentenced in Montgomery County Court to 11 ½ to 23 months in the county jail after he pleaded guilty to a felony charge of persons not to possess a firearm in connection with the February 2014 incident in Limerick.

<![CDATA[U.S. Geological Survey says minor quake felt outside Downingtown area]]> DOWNINGTOWN >> The United States Geological Survey recorded a minor earthquake Sunday evening a short distance outside the Downingtown borough.

The federal agency, which monitors and records seismic activity across the country, identified the 2.7 magnitude quake around 6:25 p.m. The Chester County Department of Emergency Services confirmed the USGS notified local officials of the activity shortly after it was recorded.

<![CDATA[Phoenixville man starts sentence early in child porn case]]> WEST CHESTER >> A Phoenixville man who had originally faced more than 100 charges of possession of child pornography was on Tuesday formally sentenced to jail on a lesser number of counts, a sentence he had voluntarily begun serving earlier this month.

John D. Corr had entered a guilty plea for five counts of child pornography in November and had agreed to serve an 11½ to 23 month prison term at Chester County Prison, and a subsequent five years of probation.

<![CDATA[Upper Providence OKs zoning changes for Valley Forge Baptist Temple properties]]> UPPER PROVIDENCE >> By a 2-0 vote, the township supervisors on Tuesday adopted an ordinance to reclassify the zoning of three adjacent parcels.

Supervisors' Chairwoman Lisa Mossie and Supervisor John Pearson voted in favor of the ordinance. Board Vice Chairman Phil Barker was absent.

Attorney Steve English conducted the zoning ordinance hearing where Valley Forge Baptist Temple requested that its 1376 and 1380 Black Rock Road properties be added to the township's Institutional Overlay District, in addition to the neighboring 1382 Black Road property owned by church member Nansi Heidorn.

<![CDATA[Kane grand jury wants to narrow Pa. journalist Shield Law]]> NORRISTOWN >> The statewide grand jury that investigated alleged leaks of grand jury information by Attorney General Kathleen Kane is asking state legislators to narrow the Pennsylvania Shield Law that presently protect journalists from revealing confidential sources.

Special Prosecutor Thomas Carluccio dropped off the grand jury's report to members of the press at the Montgomery County Court House Thursday, although he declined to comment on it.
