<![CDATA[Kichline sworn in as new Chester County commissioner]]> WEST CHESTER >> When you are an office holder in a place as old as Chester County (332 years and counting), the numbers pile up, as Michelle Haris Kichline's swearing in as the new Republican county commissioner on Tuesday demonstrates.

According to records kept by the county Department of Archives and Records, Kichline is the 219th person to take the oath as commissioner since 1711, when the office was first held by Nathaniel Newlin, Henry Pierce, Isaac Taylor and Richard Webb.

Gerlach, a Republican whose term representing the 6th District ends on New Year's Eve, has worked for years to make permanent a temporary federal tax break for conservation easements and other land preservation efforts

He said he was disappointed with the close call.

In a press conference at the Lower Salford Police Department around 2:30 p.m., Ferman announced authorities are seeking the whereabouts of Stone, 35, of Pennsburg, in connection with six deaths and the serious wounding of another person at three locations across Montgomery County this morning.

After a public hearing on the matter, council voted to repeal Chapter 1, Part 4(C) of the Code of Ordinances, effectively eliminating the Recreation Board, in a 5-3 split decision with Council President James Kovaleski, Dana Dugan and Jennifer Mayo, who was teleconferenced in, voting against.
