Have you seen this ad? It claims Tom Wolf's Fresh Start plan is going to "triple" taxes on the middle class -- a statement that has been directly refuted and proven absolutely wrong.

<![CDATA[Kampf's campaign doesn't match record on transportation funding]]> I'm going to take a risky political stand here that may alienate and offend a great many readers: I am against potholes.

Until last month, I was not aware that being opposed to potholes was even a controversial political opinion. I assumed that everyone was as anti-pothole as I. Then I watched in disbelief as our current State Representative Warren Kampf voted against the bipartisan Transportation Bill that secured sorely needed funds for pothole repair, road repaving and the development of the Paoli Transportation Center, on the floor of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives last fall.

The well attended event featured the presentation of the 2014 Ambassador of the Year Award to James C. Kovaleski.

The other very qualified nominees for this year's award were Karen Dobson, John Keenan, George Mansur and Betty Thierry.

<![CDATA[Phoenixville School Board chooses environmental consultant for Meadow Brook site]]> PHOENIXVILLE >> The Phoenixville Area School Board decided to approve a local firm to be its environmental consultant for potential issues on the Meadow Brook Golf Club property.

Schuylkill Township-based Environmental Standards Inc. was hired for $46,617 to conduct testing on the site.

Initial testing in 2008 by another firm which was up for consideration, Advantage Engineering, of West Chester, showed there were three issues at the Meadow Brook site.

The renewals come a full ten years before the first of the original 40-year licenses on the two nuclear reactors there expire.
