SKIPPACK - A woman bitten by her family's cobra was rushed to Pottstown Memorial Medical Center Sunday morning.

Some time before 10:45 a.m., the woman was handling her family's forest cobra when it bit her.

"It didn't get loose," said Dan Greco, Chief of Skippack Ambulance. "It bit her and she threw it back into the tank.

PHOENIXVILLE - Alan Fegley will continue as Phoenixville Area School District's superintendent until at least 2020.

In a 6-0 vote Thursday, the Phoenixville Area School Board approved a new contract for Fegley which will begin at the close of the 2014-15 school year and carry through until the end of the 2019-2020 school year.

EAST PIKELAND - More than 50 live marijuana plants were seized last week during a raid at a townhome on Stirling Court in the Kimberton Knoll development, according to township police.

On Friday, the East Pikeland Police Department, assisted by officers from East Vincent and West Pikeland, conducted a search of a home that was suspected of housing an indoor marijuana growing operation.
