While crucial details need to be worked out, this is still a great step forward. We need bold action now if we hope to prevent the most catastrophic effects of climate change and leave behind a planet where future generations can enjoy the same quality of life that we have now.

When the diesel engine pulled into the station applying the brakes, the steam took my breath away.

<![CDATA[Military News]]> Christopher Kasker, a 1992 Phoenixville Area High School graduate, was promoted to lieutenant colonel by the Secretary of the Army John M. McHugh during a ceremony at the Pentagon on Nov. 3.

Kasker enlisted in the Pennsylvania National Guard in 1993 with duty at the Phoenixville Armory. While attending West Chester University, Kasker enrolled in the Reserve Officer Training Program and entered active duty upon graduation in 1997.

Demetrius "The Gladiator" Hopkins, 34, of Philadelphia, was sentenced in Montgomery County Court to 10 ½ months already served to 23 months in jail, to be followed by four years' probation, after he pleaded guilty to a felony charge of aggravated assault of a police officer in connection with the January 2014 incident along Egypt Road in the township.
