Meet Phoenixville's 2014 Dogwood Pageant contestants

Phoenixville’s 2014 Dogwood Pageant will be held next Saturday, April 12 at 7 p.m. at Samuel K. Barkley Elementary School.

At the pageant, 10 Phoenixville Area High School juniors will compete for the title of Dogwood Queen. The winner will succeed 2013 Dogwood Queen Rachel Miller.

This is the 63rd year of the pageant. This year’s contestants are Alexus Ahlers, Julie Andrews, Kristina Gantz, Rachel Kelly, Lauren Randall, Madison DiAddezio, Taylor Reed, Madison Barker, Desiree Dyson and Timothea Mitchell.

The Dogwood Pageant queen rides on a float in the Dogwood parade on May 17 and attends various community events. Girls who are in their junior year of school and live in Phoenixville are eligible to participate in the pageant.

Advance tickets are available until Friday at $12 each from any contestant or online at www.phoenixvilledogwoodfestival.org/Dogwood-Pageant. Tickets will be $15 at the door.
