Democrats sweep Phoenixville Area School Board race

Incumbents Pfender and Cushing are ousted by voters

The four candidates on the Democratic ballot line swept the Phoenixville Area School Board election Tuesday, ousting two incumbents in the process.

According to unofficial results from Chester County, the top vote-getter was Blake Emmanuel, who took in 4,216 votes.

Close on her heels was Lori Broker, at 2,521 at 4,193, followed by Jeesely Soto, who won 4,159 votes, following by.

Rounding out the winning ticket was Christopher Caltagirone who won 3,816 votes.

Ousted were incumbents Renee Pfender and Daniel Cushing, who won 2,569 votes and 2,842 respectively.

Both were on the Republican ballot line.

The other two candidates on the Republican ballot line were Michael Eggleston, who won 2,580 votes and Ellen Marie Bahnsen, who earned 2,418.
