PHOENIXVILLE >> Do you have an issue you would like your borough government to address, but you’re not to keen on public speaking?
Then the public forum Phoenixville Borough Council has set for 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, might be for you.
It will be held at Borough Hall, 351 Bridge St. on the third floor.
According to the notice posted in The Mercury and the borough website, “the Community Forum is open to the public to provide an opportunity for Phoenixville residents to have a one-on-one conversation with their Borough Council representative.”
North Ward Councilman Christopher Bauers said the format of the forum is not like a usual meeting, where all of council sits as a body at the dais and residents address all of council.
Rather, “people can talk to a council member one and one,” he said.
This less formal arrangement means minutes don’t have to be kept and residents do not need to speak to all the council members as on, in front of an audience.
“Of course, if an issue is brought to any of our attention, we will bring it to the appropriate committee and it may end up being addressed at a later date by the full council,” said Bauers.
