‘Orange Crush' tennis tourney concludes

PHOENIXVILLE - The annual “Orange Crush” Tennis Tournament capped off another year of week-long activity with finals in several youth divisions at the Leo J. Scoda Tennis Courts on Aug. 7.

In the girls’ competition, Delaney Kent completed a triple crown by winning the 14-year-old division in singles as well as 16’s in singles and then capped by a victory in girls 14 doubles.

The tournament is sponsored by the Phoenixville Area Recreation Department (PARD).

Final results for boys and girls in various age divisions were as follows:

14 Singles-Delaney Kent def. Alex Rieg, 8-2.

16 Singles-Delaney Kent def. Mackenzie Bowes, 8-4.

14 Doubles-Delaney Kent/Alexis Getley def. Mila Archer/Cameron Nicolene 6-1, 6-0.


10 Singles-Aaron Benz def. Chris Palmer, 21-17.

12 Singles-Tyler Miller def. Chad Benz, 5-0

14 Singles-Graham Light def. Kevin Cushing, 8-3

16 Singles-Mike Ellis def. Chris Lehning, 8-5.
