TRAPPE ó Itís not every day you get to see a dog ride a scooter.
But thatís exactly what residents got to see at Perkiomen Valley Pet Eatery Thursday morning when celebrity pooch Norman the Scooter Dog came to visit.
Norman, a spokesdog for Natural Balance, came to the store to show off his scooter abilities and other talents, and to pose for photo ops with residents.
ďItís been a great event for the community. I think we had close to 200 people here today,Ē said Sue Kriebel, who owns the pet eatery with her husband, Gordon.
Gordon explained that the Trappe store was the first of six stops in Normanís tour of Greater Philadelphia. Friends of the Kriebelís who own a pet supplies shop in Trenton reached out to invite Norman and his owner, Karen Cobb, to the area. The tour culminates in an appearance by Norman at a Trenton Thunder game Sunday.
Norman rose to fame after showcasing his talents on a scooter on the Late Show with David Letterman. Since that appearance, the 5-year-old French sheep dog has learned to ride a bike and even set a Guinness World Record last year as the fastest dog on a scooter after traveling 100 feet in just over 20 seconds at a charity event in Marietta, Ga.
