SKIPPACK — Police are investigating after someone gained access to a 1967 Cessna Skyline at Skippack Airport and stole $12,300 worth of equipment. According to the Skippack barracks of the state police, the theft occurred between June 30 and July 20 at the airport at 767 Collegeville Road. Two navigation/communication systems, a GPS with aviation database and a transponder were stolen from the plane owned by a Collegeville resident, police said.

LIMERICK — A K-9 officer was called in to search a car after a traffic stop on Route 422 East near milemarker 180 in the township July 29 around 9:52 a.m. According to a press release from the Skippack barracks of the state police, a traffic stop was conducted and the driver, a 31-year-old man from Philadelphia who was not named by police, refused to allow officers to search his car. As a result, police called the K-9 officer to perform a search of the exterior of the vehicle. The car was subsequently seized and a search warrant obtained before police searched the interior of the vehicle, police said. The search resulted in the discovery of a small amount of marijuana and two rolled cigarettes, police said. The driver faces charges in district court, according to police.
