Sections of Routes 113 and 23 to close this week for construction

Sections of two area roads are closing to through traffic during certain hours this week.

Aqua Pennsylvania will close Route 23 (Valley Forge Road) between Country Club Lane and Valley Park Road in Schuylkill Township, Chester County, beginning July 10 for resurfacing, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today. It will be closed weeknights from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. through July 24.

During the operation, Aqua Pennsylvania will detour through traffic over Country Club Lane and Valley Park Road.

Aqua Pennsylvania will complete the work under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.

Route 113 (Main Street) will also be closed and detoured between Ridge Pike and Route 29 in Trappe Borough, Montgomery County, starting on Tuesday (July 8) for roadway base repair. Route 113 will be closed daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Friday (July 11).

During construction, through traffic will be detoured over Route 29 and Ridge Pike.

The work will be performed by PennDOT Montgomery County Maintenance crews.

Local access will be maintained up to the construction at both sites. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the areas.
