COLLEGEVILLE — A 13-year-old male student who attended Perkiomen Valley Middle School East was arrested Wednesday and charged with making terroristic threats and other offenses stemming from a phone call he allegedly made, warning of an impending explosion at an unnamed school last week.
Montgomery County emergency services received the call at approximately 7:15 a.m. June 13 and determined that the call originated from a student at the school. The school was evacuated and searched. No explosives were found and the school was reopened just before noon.
According to a public information report released by Pennsylvania state police, the teen has also been charged with threatening to use weapons of mass destruction, false alarms to agencies of public safety, disorderly conduct and criminal use of a communication facility.
Subsequent to his arrest, the juvenile was in custody at the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Center pending a hearing.
