Former Phoenixville Area High School and Vanderbilt University football star Rob Lohr took part in the Phantoms’ spring camp under new head coach Evan Breisblatt.

Lohr, who graduated from Phoenixville in 2008, was signed as a free agent with the National Football League’s Kansas City Chiefs and coach Andy Reid last year but did not make the team. He is still working out in hopes of landing a job with a professional team, possibly in Canada.

Lohr starred for the Phantoms as a defensive end and tight end under former head coach Bill Furlong. He was voted the Pioneer Athletic Conference (PAC-10) Defensive Player of the Year during his senior year.

Lohr, a 6-4, 290-pounder, was moved to defensive tackle at Vanderbilt. He played his college ball for the Commodores under head coach James Franklin, a native Pennsylvanian who has since been named the new head football coach at Penn State University.
